New Castle Middle School Athletics

The NCMS Boys' Trojan Netters lost to Mt. Vernon 1-4 as they returned from Labor Day weekend. With a shift at #3 singles, seventh-grader Gavin Brown was the solo victory, defeating his opponent 2-4, 4-0, (10-7), coming back from down 5-7 in the tiebreak with 5 straight points to win his match. Seventh-grader Collin Mahoney, though suffering defeat, played some great tennis, but fell short in a third set tiebreaker, losing 2-4, 4-2, (8-10). Seventh-grader Daniel Li also recorded a great match against his opponent. The Trojans are at home against Connersville on Thursday, September 4th at 5:30pm at Luddy Tennis Center.
