Levi Huckeby showed a strong eye at the plate on Monday, as Huckeby walked three times while leading New Castle Middle School Trojans 7th Grade to a 14-4 victory over Connersville Middle School 7th Grade. Levi Huckeby also earned the win for New Castle. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and four runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking five. Kobe Lee tossed one and two-thirds innings of shutout ball for New Castle in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits, striking out two and walking two. Gavin Hurt also pitched in relief striking out 1 batter. Lead-off hitter, Carter Silvers, led New Castle with two hits in four at bats. Cooper Penrose, Jayden Moffitt, and Huckeby each added a single that scored RBIs. New Castle had patience at the plate, accumulating 13 walks for the game. Lee and Huckeby led the team with three free passes each.
