On a sweltering evening at Greenfield Jr. High School, the NCMS Boys' Tennis team were shut out in their second match of the season. Number one doubles team, eighth-grader Levi DeCrastos and seventh-grader Dakota Huntley, rallied together to put 3 games on the board for the Trojans, but inevitably came up short losing 3-8). The JH team were led by the three singles players, but could not close out the match. Eighth-grader Bryce Bloom landed the Trojans only win in his second-ever match, and first match as a singles player (6-3). Eighth-grader Sullivan Row and seventh-grader Ezra Schacht also played games better represented by their efforts than their scores. In exhibition play, eighth-graders Kade Siewert and Bryce Bloom partnered together for a win, as did eighth-graders Caleb Kinnaird and Hunter Ellison and sixth graders Korbyn Guffey and Colin Mahoney. Brothers Gavin and Grant Brown also added some games on the board in an entertaining match that showed a promising future for the tennis program.
