In the NCMS Boys' Tennis team's first match of 2024, the score did not reflect the effort in the Trojans' 1-4 loss to Shenandoah Middle School in what was also many players' first ever matches. Eighth-graders, and number one doubles team, Grant Brown and Caleb Kinnaird were the Trojans' lone varsity point, battling and showing their grit to hold on to their set leads to win 6-4, 6-4 against the Raiders' Jack Williams and Henry Leeper. Eighth-grade number three singles player Levi DeCrastos showed great movement and rallies, but narrowly fell to Shenandoah's Oliver Retz 2-4, 2-4. The number two doubles team of Stevie Fadely and Dakota Huntley came out strong, winning their first set 6-4, but couldn't outlast their opponents, Connor Gift and Tanner Glentzer, as they fell in the final two sets, 4-6, 2-6. The JV squad defeated Shenandoah 1-0. Eighth-grade duo Henry Lansinger and Sullivan Row were the Trojan JV team's win, outlasting and defeating Raiders Carson Becker and Kamden Kepner 4-2 in what was Lansinger's first ever match. The Trojans went 1-6 in exhibition play, with the doubles team of Bryce Bloom and Kooper Neal being the sole victory, winning 6-4 in what was Bloom's first ever match.
